Story time: I regret my human design getting the scar to look similar made me want to cry like I can’t I gave up it’s whatever it’s not whatever I wanna scream I still can’t draw hats very well and I don’t think I ever will learn how to make them look natural but hey practice makes improvement.

what was the birthday party(tm) scene like in the au? Did cpt Anya tell them about the firing or did she wait on it a little (Love how you still keep their personalities the same - most roleswaps do more of a personality swap instead of just roles, it still changes them though!)

'ooh, anya's birthday party!' i thought, like a fool, before i realised that swapping roles doesn't swap dates of birth as well (unless we work off the theory about the one communal birthday that 'so we can have it whenever' means just On Any Day, the in-game party doesn't actually happen on curly's birthday, but i digress)

anya tells swansea when she first receives the note, and they agree to wait with the news for a good-ish moment. so she doesn't bring it up at the party, not wanting to mess up a good day, very aware of how much the mood is bound to shift once everyone knows. and then she gets busy with other things and...yeah

after the crash, swansea finds the note in the ruins of the cockpit and pockets it. jimmy finds the note on swansea's corpse, and it's another nail in the coffin of his damaged psyche, leading him to the conclusion that fixing the pods is his one chance of getting them out alive. for which, well, he will need sustenance. it's only reasonable.

Hfkjshskad thank you so much, that is incredibly kind and means a lot to me!! 😭😭😭❤️❤️ I think I’ll go with the Teia and Viago one here, though I may post a Rye/Lucanis wip snippet as its own thing at some other time! 

Necessary Context: After the dragon attack on Treviso barely being fended off, when Viago and Teia meet up again they just stare at each other vaguely mutually shellshocked for a few minutes and then have some really intense sex about it for the first time in a while. This is right after that.  

She kissed the tears from his cheeks, stroked his hair as he blindly turned his face towards her, as if searching for her in the dark. When he opened his eyes and looked at her, her heart broke all anew, all over again. You would think it would run out of new ways of doing that, eventually. It hadn’t yet. 

“Oh, mi amor,” she sighed on a soft broken laugh, cradling him closer to her with an artless helpless sort of greed, “what have you and I done to each other?” 

“Nothing I would ever let anyone take away from me,” he said, voice cracked open but steadier than she’d ever heard it. 

. . . 

“I’ve missed you so much,” she said. 

“You see me every day, now,” he said, with that characteristic unerring instinct for pedantry. She wanted to laugh almost as much as she wanted to cry. The world was ending and Caterina was gone and everything was coming apart at the seams faster than she could stitch reality or the city itself back together towards wholeness, but Viago de Riva remained perfectly, inalienably himself. 

“I do,” she said quietly, stroking his dark wavy hair away from his forehead. “It makes it worse.”

His bare hand found hers. Their fingers interlaced, tight. 

 “Yes,” he said. “I know the feeling.”

They’d be fun coworkers -> friends!! I mention in my Glimmering Soirée groovy card place that Kiyuu works part-time at Mostro Lounge from Book 3-5. She was hired as a dishwasher and general janitor (we’re back in the f-ing building again /ref) who occasionally got sent to serve. She probs always thought the stickers he put on his face were super cute (and she lovesss cute things). After they became closer, they probably started trading stickers with each other. Kiyuu starts decorating her tack board with stickers thanks to him!!
